Splendor had perhaps the coolest LP cover on the 70's!
And check out the syndrums here, courtesy of Philp Bailey. Groovy! ;) Now, why wasn't this a huge hit? It's incomprehensible.
The band consisted of Robertt "Bobby" Nunn on lead vocals and keyboards, his brother Billy Nunn on keyboards, Sascha Meeks on vocals, Lorenzo Shaw on drums, Richard Shaw on bass & vocals and Ric Salter on guitar. The same members that played on Rick James's Motown debut "Come Get It" . Bobby would also later record two solo albums on Motown in the early 80's, scoring a big hit with "She's Just A Groupie" (#15 R&B in 1982) and also hitting the charts with the singles "Got To Get Upon It", "Private Party" and "Hangin' Out At The Mall", all of them favorites if mine. Billy Nunn, the keyboard wizard, continued to play with Rick James and is still a integral part of the Stone City Band. He has both a Facebook page and a MySpace Profile:

Bobby Nunn is still writing & producing and can be reached at http://www.branji.com
This, the self titled 1979 LP, Splendor's one and only, was produced by Philip Bailey , Tommy Vicari and Robertt Nunn. This is a very good record, well worth seeking out.
This one is going to be released on CD in Japan in July. I have ordered mine.
