Terry Newton: The Last Interview 1/2

On 3rd September 2010, Terry Newton joined Brian Carney on his 'Super League's Superman' show to talk about his two-year doping ban in February after testing positive for a human growth hormone. He was the first athlete in any sport to have tested for HGH, and his suspension was hailed at the time as a breakthrough in the war against doping by anti-drugs campaigners. 23 days after this interview, Newton was found dead at a house in Greater Manchester.

No matter who you support or if you are 100% against drugs, you've gotta feel sympathy for his family! Two little girls losing their Dad at such a young age, no one deserves that! He knows he was a fool to take drugs but everyone fucks up at some point! RIP Terry, you are truly missed!

So sorry that Terry is no longer with us. However, he was not a "good lad", he was a fighter that chose to cheat. So, lets remember Terry as a an entertainer, but never a great sportsman. RIP Terry x
