KWin Rubber ("Wobbly") Windows

I did this screencast for two reasons: 1) to demostrate kwin's new rubber windows plugin and 2) because there is a disturbing lack of flcl-eva crossover in kde screencasts.

These changes should appear in trunk in the next few days. I'm currently working on a "Mother of all Window Animations" plugin and when once I finish it if the cube is still not implemented, I'll do it. With these 3 plugins, KWin will be mostly feature competitive with compiz. Yay!

@n3rdopolis You'd have to compile it yourself, and anyway I really don't want to dig up the code. I don't even use linux anymore :/

Can you tell me, please, which software have you used for record your desktop on KDE4?

I've tried recordmydesktop, krecordmydesktop but nothing... They doesn't work... :-(

I used recordmydesktop. I don't remember the details but i might have had to add some options to make it work properly. It makes a difference what video hardware you have (I assume). I have a great setup, raid 5, 8800GT with proprietary drivers, quad core Intel CPU.

Anyway, my plugin was not accepted and another person's plugin will be the wobbly windows plugin for kde. I personally think that my plugin was superior for many reasons, but I'm not gonna start a fight, it's not important enough.

So how do you think KWin compares to Compiz at this point? They seem to think Compiz will be basically worthless with Gnome3
