A Chat with the Director Irvin Kershner for a Pilot to an Arts Program we did called "ARTSMASH." We talked about everything from his early days to Jackson Pollock.

So sad to see Kersh go, but thought this should be shared. He couldn't have been more generous and kind.

  • I would imagine he was sick of people asking him about Empire and the franchise Star Wars.

  • I can listen this man for hours...

  • @squamish4244 Spielberg would have had to leave the Director's Guild to do ROTJ, nothing George could do to help.

  • @andross51 Yes I believe you're right, it's too bad because Spielberg actually had the power to tell George what was a dumb idea or not.

  • @squamish4244 I think after empire strikes back was released, lucas dropped out of the directors guild so he couldn't hire speilberg. I bet he would have done a great job with ROTJ!

  • Lucas should have bent over backwards to get Spielberg for Return of the Jedi and then adopted the same approach with that as he did with Kershner in Empire.

  • He is a super cool old man!

  • Rest in Peace Mr. Kershner. :(

  • Thank you for posting these
