You people are fucking idiots. If it could in anyway hurt the horse we wouldn't do it and I'm pretty sure the horse would be freaking out way more if it hurt him. It's not cruel and it's not painful. Fucking dumb asses. If done correctly it feels the same as some one pulling the skin on your elbow. which you can't feel other than the pressure.

Personally I think pulled manes are ugly. Sure they look a little tidier but natural manes are the best. Ive never cut, pulled, or ever did any of that stuff to my horse's manes and they are beautiful. My oldest horse has a tail that nearly touches the ground and a beautiful mane longer than her neck. Maybe it dosent hurt them, but it dosent look too comfertable, in my own opinion, or maybe it's because I'm a western rider.

@countrybabe561 im a western rider and even i find your comment offensive. clearly you dont know much about the horse's anatomy cuz it DOES NOT hurt them when you pull on their manes. and manes dont offer that much protection anyways from the flies, it only offers protection from one side and can get extremely hot during the summer. try to be a liitle less arrogant next time you post something and actually KNOW what youre talking about.
