Solar and wind backup power. This is a responce to my last video. I know this stuff can be intimidating and I wanted to try to clear it up a bit. I have other videos that may help you out if you are looking into solar power..

  • Kevin, Is the permit and stuff for grid tie easy to get? Thanx man.-Nate

  • @N8Dogg1002 Yes and No it depends on where you live and the rules of your power provider and local code inforcment. Most grid tie or grid interactive inverters have whats called "Island protection" wich means you cant backfeed the grid when the powers out. Good to here from you my Friend..I hope all is well..

  • Awesome set up! Thanks for posting this. (Had a thousands questions) You mentioned having to have a mega set up to run Air Conditioning. What about a well pump?

  • @03DexterHauler Pumping water is somthing that solar is best at. The pumps on the other had are a little pricey depending on how high you have to lift it.

  • Alright, I know this is an older video, but it takes me a while to come up with a decent question that I am facing right now. In your video you said that you pieced your system together to make what you have now. My question is what piece would you start with so you wouldn't need to upgrade? What is the most important piece to get right the first time? Me, I want emergency power but I don't have the budget to complete the system right now, but I don't want to wait either. Start now, and build.

  • Great video Kevin! But I have a question which I think didn't watched. Why you changed one of yours Xantrex Modified wave inverters for the Outback one?. Regards from Domican Republic.

  • I'm just learning, and learning a great deal from your series. You mentioned A/C systems. I spoke w/ a gentleman in Florida that was using the Mitsubishi ductless on a warehouse that he owns. He says that the way they are designed, they will start and run off of solar alone. He says that they ramp up at a much slower rate, and are great for solar. I don't know enough to comment.

  • yea defenetly SUNELEC is the place to go thats where i got all my system. and i looked arownd everyware.hell of a sytem you got there. im wayting on my turbine wind max 1kw.should have it up next week

  • Thanks a lot OBX for the information.Hope to be able to put a small scale system together, with the help of your videos and knowledge.

  • Wow! Very nice.

  • Thank you for sharing your info, i am starting to get hooked, I just picked up a really basic solar panel kite from harbor freight. looking into getting batteries for it. I seen at cost co you can pick up golf cart batteries for 79 bucks, but that was a few months ago
