Could I use a mirror on the bottom insted of foil?
-
Its very simple........ you need two people for this job...... one person needs to stand at the distribution board and turn off the electricity while you need to find a mains socket and push uninsulated wires into the two holes. Then tell the person to turn the electricity back on while holding the wires.
Hopefully this should shock enough sense into you to realise you don't generate electricity from a solar WATER HEATER.

@13JMC13 that could be because the surface area of the volume of water you are trying to heat is evaporating and cooling it down. how big is your pool? is it underground or above?

nice job sir i like very much and i will try to make one of like this. thanks
Instead of using the ceiling tile, use roofing foil backed hard foam panel,it's thicker, but rigid and has a thick foil backing,it may be able to be sealed without a back panel as well.I'd like to see the heat exchanger and circulator pump as well though, this looks good so far.

@Oldbmwr100rs That's a great idea, using the foil backed high r sheathing for the back panel itself.
My newest how to video may use that technique. Thanks Ernie

This is brilliant. I was wondering if you know exactly how hot it gets? I have chickens and in dec/jan/feb will need some form of heating, if i attatched one of these to the roof do you think it would work?

@ophelianymph It's a bit more complex than that. Check out the newest video. Feel free to contact me.

hey conel, i have a science project due and i saw your video. Would it work if i made it a 55cm box on all sides?? we have to heat cold water without electricity but it has to be 55cm long and the width has to be 55cm as well. HELPPPPPP

@shheellbbyy6532 Scale it down. No problem, just don't burn yourself....I did the same science fair project back in 1974 and won first place....
