Occult connection with horse attacks in Scotland

For over twenty years or more there have been attacks on horses, ranging from hair being cut off the mane and tail to the more serious cutting off of genetalia from femaile horses. It is believed that there is an occult connection with nutters attacking the poor animals in the belief that they can make 'flying ointment' and actually release their soul to fly!

I don't know if anyone over there is celebrating sanheim in a violent way anymore. When it was involved with druidism they burned live horses, but now religions have evolved and I would hope that people aren't still harming animals to celebrate/do rituals.
