soccer means association. Association was shortened to assoc then it became soccer. Calling it soccer is not right

I am not arguing that football is not a great sport, because it is; I'm simply in awe of its darker side. This book really is fantastic and it show's how different sports are in the east and west. In the U.S. Sport is based on wealth maximzation, while internationally it is look at more as a Utility; esprit de corps (however its spelled). This book allows people like me (the heavy American Sport Consumer)

to dive into the fascinating world of international football. GOOD READ

this book plays devil's advocate in many ways how soccer has failed its global efforts to dimish hatred and corruption generated by soccer. Like he says " globalization should do away with nationalism but it hasn't done so." He later outlies a theory on how it could unite the world. This book is a theory on globalization not a solution or summary of a succesfull solution, many of it's points are weak however are overlooked because of its innovative thought.

soccer and football is the same game. Two names for the same game.

By the way, it was the British who invented the name soccer. There is a tv show on in Britain every saturday morning called "Soccer AM" and one of the best selling football magazines in Europe is called "World Soccer." Maybe you should write to the tv show and magazie and tell them they are wrong for using the name soccer.
