Kalaripayatu - dagger fight

Kalaripayatu , the traditional martial art of northen Kerala uses different weapons. Dagger is very common among rural people. Here you can see two youngsters fighting with daggers. See the ferocity of the fight. It is done at dusk time in a Kalari (traditional school for practicing it) . payatu means fight in Malayalam. It is a demonstration for a group of students from Ngee Ann polytechnic in Singapore on an India Immersion programme being held in National Institute of Technology Calicut India.
