Just 15 minutes from my garage door, this stretch of California state highway 299 is one of the most challenging stretches of road in North America-about 8 miles from base to summit, dozens of well surfaced, banked, and radius-ed consecutive curves-most posted 20-25 mph. There is about a 1500' elevation change, and 3 passing lane-sections to pass on the uphill. Mid-day, weekday traffic is very light and only a couple shady spots to watch for ice in the winter. (This video was shot on a clear day in January.) Best part is you can challenge 100% of your ability, your bike, and your tires and not even be at risk of a ticket-my very best average on a hot summer day is 61 mph. Enjoy
I take this every week in my Jeep. I would LOVE to go this fast! My best average is about 40ish on a warm, sunny day in the summer.
Once you get past the first 2 lefts at the bottom, it's pretty much smooth sailing (thanks to some much needed repaving).

I drive a truck up and down this hill every week. If i could go as fast as that I'd get to Weaverville about 40 minutes quicker at the beginning of my route lol. I saw the "watch for snow" sign was turned facing traffic at the first passing zone at 3:40, when did you record this?
