Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of PITFALL! for the Atari 2600 video computer system. This is the original PITFALL for the Atari 2600, an arcade video game classic released in 1982 by Activision. Pitfall had many sequels on many systems like the Atari 5200, Sega Genesis and Sony Playstation.

The game seems like a nod to Harrison Ford in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc. You play as Pitfall Harry and traverse the jungle looking for bars of gold, currency, cash, silver and diamond rings. Don't fall into the pits or get eaten by alligators! Old school!

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. Xbox Live Arcade XBLA.

  • Cool game. I'm gonna go downtown to Pitfall Harry's Pawn Shop and see if I can pick up a copy.

  • I like this game, and the so-called 'electronic tarzan yell" is ultra-cool retro-goodness.

  • Pitfall Harry > Nathan Drake.

  • Still one of my favorite 2600 games ever.

  • @tecnoborg75 The first platformer

  • Weird thing is, I loved this one and HATED Pitfall 2. To each their own.

  • It's way better than super pitfall for NES

  • @atari2602

Sorry man, I already went their but they didn't have it. However they did have plenty of gold, money, and rings!

  • i had to dig through my past to find this one. Exhilarating! almost as good as donkey kong but DK is the best. MK is a close second

  • uncharted for Atari

  • I didn't start playing games until the Nintendo came out but I always associated Pitfall with Atari the same way I would associate Sonic with Sega and Mario with Nintendo. I still get a kick out of him jumping across on the rope and the tarzan music kicks in.

  • My favorite part of marvel ultimate alliance is when they get sucket into the arcade machine, and to save Jean Grey you have to PLAY PITFALL. awesome activision...just awesome.
