CITIZENS ADVOCATING THE USE OF SUSTAINABLE ENERGY (CAUSE) is a Calgary-based grassroots movement opposing plans for nuclear development in Alberta. CAUSE's goal is to inform the public about the safety, environmental, health and economic risks of nuclear power. We support energy conservation, and renewable energies, such as wind, solar and geothermal, as safer, less expensive and more environmentally friendly energy alternatives. CAUSE is a member of the Coalition for a Nuclear Free Alberta, a province-wide alliance of groups committed to keeping Alberta nuclear free

  • I say yes to nuclear energy.

  • Thanks you, I support your right to say yes, others have said no and for many good reasons. That's what makes democracy work.

  • go for free energy...no against abusing and over controlling

  • 200 protesters out of a population of 3.7 million people in Alberta maybe everyone isn't against it?

  • @hawkeyicockburn The reasons why i said yes is because nuclear energy isn't like the media describes it. You should take a look at how France disposes their nuclear waste. 95% of it is recycled and reused. It's also much cleaner and safer than coal or oil burning powerplants. And the safety procedures are highly refined now these days. the incident that happened in Chernobyl was completely their fault. Had they not overridden all the safety procedures. It wouldn't of happened.

  • Get you facts straight Felecia, there are no nuclear weapons on Canadian soil - U.S. or otherwise.

  • Great job everyone. Linked to my Facebook!

  • woot! keep it up.

  • Good example of citizen democracy in action. The organizers are to be commended. Unforunate the rest of the population can't be more engaged in what's going on. And I don't think corporations or the mainstream media care about this event either way. Well, maybe Bruce power and the AB govmn't does. But we voted in the latter so what can you expect when you fill the legislature with people that have no vision..

  • Great job on recording and posting.

Too bad mainstream media won't put more than 1/2 minute blurs. Why not, that's a great question?
