Valley of Fire State Park is accessible north of Las Vegas via State Route 169 (Exit 75), which travels southeast off Interstate 15. The per-car entrance fee, in August 2009, was $6. This video covers about two minutes of driving within the park. Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest and largest state park, dedicated 1935. The valley derives its name from the red sandstone formations and stark beauty of the Mojave Desert.
