Well, now that it's October 31st, why not adorn my channel with a huge skull? Wearing a powdered wig and teaching music, no less. Bonelich von Skeleski is Captain Barbaros's personal composer and devoted his life to finding and creating nice music for Barbaros to listen to and also conducted for Barbaros's personal orchestra. I wonder if Bonelich would've been good friends with Brooke from One Piece.

Bonelich encounters Zack 6 times throughout the course of the game. Each time, he challenges Zack to a rhythm game. You must shake the Wii Remote each time the bell reaches the point between the arrow on his collar and where he's pointing his finger, preferably as close to the arrow as you can. Get enough of the cues correct, and he'll give either a special gift for Zack (usually treasure maps) or an upgrade for Wiki (required for future encounters with Bonelich). The color of his wig denotes the upgrade required for Wiki. A white wig means he'll play for Zack from the start. A red wig means Wiki must be upgraded at least once, and a blue wig means Wiki must be upgraded twice. Some of these songs should sound familiar to you if you're a Capcom fan. Or all of them if you're a Capcom maniac.

Bonelich's challenges are notorious for their difficulty. I think most of the complaints come from the unresponsiveness of the Wii Remote, but that's because it's being done wrong. Waving the Wii Remote like a baton doesn't really yield that great of results. What you ought to do is hold the Wii Remote pointed straight up, then swing the Wii Remote down with your wrist until it's parallel to the ground. Bring the Wii Remote back up to position as quickly as you can so you can be ready for Bonelich's next cue. Through this, Bonelich becomes incredibly easy for me, and I'll show you a perfect run of the first five songs and an almost perfect run of the sixth. The last encounter takes a very long time to reach, so it'd take all day for me to reach Bonelich AND get it done perfectly.

These are where you can encounter Bonelich and what songs he plays.
1. Flute of the Growlin' Goblins - Ghosts 'n' Goblins Stage 1
2. The Fountain Guardian - Speed Rumbler Stage 1
3. Icicle of Prosperity - SonSon Stage 1
4. Relics of the Past - Bionic Commando Stage 1
5. Mad Science - Mega Man II Wily 1
6. Barbaros's Land - Zack & Wiki Main Theme

For a guy whose great leader had perished and meets up with the boy who had defeated him after resurrection, he seems to be pretty mellow. Bonelich is one of my favorite characters in this game. He's awesome.

  • i always have toruble keping a steady shake with the lines but the bells are no probs :P congrats man!

  • i think too that bonelich is avesome

  • @Overhazard

Ok but is the shake harder or softer when you are at the squiggly line

  • @janfeyen9 I'm still not entirely sure what you're doing, but this is how it goes:

When the bell reaches the end, give the Wii Remote one single shake.

When you get to a squiggly line, shake the Wii Remote until the end of the line.

Don't move the Wii Remote any other time.

  • @Overhazard

No I stop when the bell's gone but now do you shake the Wiimote harder or softer when the squigily lines

  • @janfeyen9 It doesn't sound like you do. It sounds like you're constantly shaking it.

  • @Overhazard

No I know when to shake but is there a rythm to it or what

  • @janfeyen9 When and how are you normally shaking? That's what I'm asking. It sounds like you're always shaking your Wii Remote, even when you're not supposed to.
