You either do a sweep or a trip. A trip takedown should have one motion with the right foot to get more momentum. When he caught it, he transferred weight to left foot then moved right foot for the trip. He was more set up for a sweep. After he catches foot he should have just swept out the leg with his left. It is much more fluid.

@carveyournamein Dunno how many fights you've had but it's better to take it to the ground in a controlled manner. But I think his throw requires better technique.
