Katie Watson

View photos of our little girl Katie, who died on the 20th January, 2010 aged 22 days. Katie was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome 36 hrs after birth. We got to bring Katie home with us when she was 8 days old & she was with us at home for 13 days. Such a brave & strong little girl. We love Katie very much & miss her so much. Arline & David xx

I am very sorry for your loss. My son,David also suffered brain damage, PVL due to being premature and HLHS, we did not know how bad it was until later. He also passed on January 20, a year later than your little girl. Praying for your family.

@davidnbarrysmom Hi Davids Mom - thank you for your message of support & I'm so sorry to you & your family also on losing your darling little boy David. Its so ironic that both David & Katie passed away on the same day, 1 yr apart. Katie was full term, and we didn't know until she was 24Hrs old that she had HLHS. We are so blessed to have shared her life for 22 days. I'd like to tell you that the pain, heartache & loneliness gets easier over time, but it doesn't. God bless you. Katie's Mom. xx

i'm soo sorry for your loss. she was an adorable baby. if you don't mind me asking, did katie have the norwood surgery? at 9 days old my baby boy had his open heart surgery.

Hi there - thank you for your kind comment - No katie unfortunately had suffered servere brain damage due to lack of oxygen, therefore we made the decision not to put her through the norwood procedures as her chances of survival were so slim.

I hope your little boy is doing good & I'm glad that he was well enough to undergo surgery. How long also was that?

@arlowat that was on 8/26/08. it was 12hr long surgery but he came through it =). his doctors planned to due his 2nd surgery at around 5 months old and he passed away peacefully at home in his crib after giving us that night soo many smiles and giggles. God didn't want him to suffer. my husband and i decided to get pregnant again and now i'm 10wks pregnant! life goes on but they are never forgotten. if you like you can go to my youtube page and i have a video of him uploaded. enjoy =)
