A video of my cards heating up. I have been using them for about 7 months or so, and they do reach that temp on L4D every once and a while, but my cards have stayed strong ever since i plugged them into my computer. And before anyone starts commenting about "Defective video cards", i already checked for loose bolts, and burned spots in the video card, and i have found none so far. I am upgrading to the new 5850's or 5870's in the near future. but for now, i'm stuck with these. I do play in windowed mode to ensure i can minimize to lets the cards cool down, then resume playing, but i prefer my 1440x900 resolution better...
Subscribe for future videos, send me a PM what you'd like to see, COD4, CODMW2 (Coming soon), Css, Tf2, Killing Floor, i'll record heating temps with them if you are a potential buyer of a 4850.
Also, the sound heard in the background is my Air conditioner, helps to keep my room cool. (Obviously)

These are the very first generation HD 4850's with the single slot cooler design. They were designed to run this hot. I own a second generation HD 4850 from XFX with a dual slot cooler and it idles at 40C, while at load it does a max of 70C. And for reference, I also own a first generation 9800GT from PNY with a single slot cooler that does 72C on Idle and over 100C during load.
