These are sentiments that would be normal for people who has just emmigrated from poverty in South America.Communism is not a threat anymore - no one believes it is. But it is a way of expressing frustration of being on the bottom of the social & economic ladder. SEIU are hotel maids.Immigration law is a concern for these people; wages are a concern - as they would be for you if you were paid $8/hr for demeaning work.Their concerns are justifiable, even if they misread the solutions.
