This clip is from a video taken at S.I.R. rehearsal studios in Hollywood CA. in 1977. The band is "Jasmine" . Bassist Garry Goodman is playing his Percussive Harmonics on a 1961 Fender Bass VI. Compare this to the "7-string Bass Solo" video clip. It's the same tune and the same band, but taped in 2000. Garry would take advantage of the Fender " vibrato arm " to bend open harmonics.

  • I've never heard of a Fender Bass VI before.

  • I've never heard a Fender Bass VI played this way! Props to the bass player!

  • Garry is such an underrated bassist.

  • Love this!!! :D

  • Hey Gary, everyone loves this. Why don't you throw "fusion" in the title and watch it turn some numbers.

6 string was pretty revolutionary in it's day...

I think I could have walked across that slap bass riff you did there! Nice work!

  • I hear that! he is really doing way too much. The bassist is doing some killer stuff and it's getting ruined.

  • Fusion, Funk and Flares.Effin fab Gaz!

  • Too bad the drummer wasn't doing the bassist justice.

  • this is an awesome song. siiiickness. every single instrument rocked.

  • gosh, if a band like this came along today, they'd get global respect!
