Anime TV show ratings in Japan: Sazae-san, Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon, One Piece, Chibi Maruko-chan, Dragon Ball Kai, Fresh Precure!, Detective Conan, Pokemon: Daimond and Pearl, and Inazuma Eleven.
Japanese anime movie rankings: Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser, is still at #1. Now totals US$20M. Takashi Miike's Crows Zero II is now at #5, taking in a total of $22M so far. Crayon Shin-Chan: Roar! is at #6, totaling $5.9M Drop, the coming-of-age autobiography, fell off the top 10 list, having brought in $18M.
4Kids announced during a recent conference call a 1st-quarter net loss of $2 million dollars for 2009. But don't fret! That's less than the $6 million they lost in the 1st quarter of last year.
Bandai's postponing the North America release of Kurokami part 1 and the Freedom Complete Collection. They've canceled all pre-orders retailers have made, and planning a re-solicitation sometime in the future. Fortunately, Code Geass R2 and Hayate the Combat Butler are still to be released as planned.
Funimation's Anime video-on-demand service, which has been available on Comcast in certain areas, is now available on Comcast nationwide. They already offer Ouran, Aquarion, Mushi-Shi, Devil May Cry, XXXHolic, and Tsubasa, plus many others. Apparently they shuffle anime in and out every month. This summer they'll be bringing in Heroic Age, Romeo x Juliet, Murder Princess, and Honey and Clover (and others).

There's going to be a Bubblegum Crisis live-action film. In 2012. Two of the girls will be Caucasian, and two Asian. It's being produced in six countries. You've got Australia's Arclight Films, Canada's Wizzfilms, the Infotainment China Media Company, and the United Kingdom's Latec International. AIC had already signed a basic agreement with Cubix International in Singapore, which will still be executive producing. The group plans to consult with Shinji Aramaki and Kenichi Sonoda to get the feel of the world right. They plan for a budget of $30M (?!?), and they've already got 70% of the money.
The second Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel has a street date in the U.S.! It's...October. So, that's 6 months between releases. While you're waiting, you can head over to the hatchettebookgroup.com website for Haruhi and download a 31-page preview PDF of the upcoming novel. Novel 2 - The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya - will include the filming of "Magical Mikuru-chan."
If you're good at getting this info, do you know at-all if there will be an English dubbing of any of the Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann movies anytime soon; or, if they've already been released if created? Get back to me on this, please.

I've checked, and neither of the Gurren Lagann movies have been licensed in America yet, as far as I've been able to find out.
