Finally, here it is. I'm not the greatest guitar player in the world. You can hear slight clipping but, you get the idea.

  • Thanks for this great demo. It's really given me a new slant for what I want from Verellen.

I don't know how you managed to slot a .075 into an Ibanez tuning peg and nut slot, but well done for that. It sounds awesome.

  • @angrygoldfish I unwind the string partly and the nut has been modded. Thanks man! :D

  • Sounds amazing! +1 for a Loucks/Model T comparison if all at possible.

How much of the tone is coming from the Baritone? Can you still get that raw crunch tone out of it using say... Drop D with a standard guitar? Cheers

  • Ooooooh! I'm having myself one of these. Better get saving, unless anyone wants to buy a kidney? I've got a spare vintage one in good condition. Swap for a Loucks (+ postage).

  • @CynicEidolon I don't remember whether I asked for you to make the Loucks clip or not but it's been very helpful. I don't suspose you could make a clip of the Model T so that I can compare them? Both types of amplifiers are very difficult to find in Ireland even in the UK and mainland Europe so every little bit helps.

  • Good heavy sound perfect for Stoner Doom metal/ :-) I play on a 1978 Hagstrom hiin a 1978 Gibson Marauder s2 and a Jackson Flying vee with seymour duncans . I bet it would murder and insanit ycoming out of the amp.

  • Holy hell this amp is a kliller! OH MY GOD! Crushing!!!

  • @angrygoldfish I have both! Haha. A Model T and a Verellen Loucks. The Loucks is "wetter" sounding. The Sunn is more "cutting" and sharper. It's not as dynamic as the Loucks either. As well as it feels "smaller" than the Loucks. But, it does have more chug from it as well.

  • @VerellenAmps We've already spoken about the prospect of building me an amplifier. I'm the guy from Ireland.

Anyway, I was just listening to this and comparing it to a Sunn Model T. I was trying to decide which one I would prefer more. It's a very difficult decision as I've neither played a Model T nor a Hiwatt of "Loucks" nature.

I only say that I am closer to deciding because hearing other people's sound clips gives me a better idea of how to compare the two designs and amps.

  • @angrygoldfish Hey man, what would you like from us? :)
