On Thursday 15th January 2009, 155 people on board US Airways flight 1549 faced their worst nightmare. Less than two minutes into the flight, a flock of geese struck the plane, breaking both engines. nobody talks about the co pilot who was working to try to restart the engine and do emergency checks, the old pilot trying to take credit for it all, the flight deck is a two man deal, in fighter jets or civi, and FYI the co pilot operated the flaps and dynamics, captain might have the stick but come on........co pilot given the f off by the media.............

Yes.

Nothing miraculous about physics.

Sully had what he needed to put the plane into the Hudson, and nothing more.

A true "Miracle" would have been if he could have gotten to an actual airport (you know, that place where the long concrete strip is?)

This whole "Miracle on the Hudson" thing should be "Pilot gets lucky and doesn't take out 20 sq blocks of the Bronx".

Just had opportunity to meet with Jeff Skiles, the co-pilot ... the way he recalls the events is breath taking ... And TimTehPilot is right ... they saved lives due to proper training and keeping cool.
