Probably the tone is coming from the combination of pickup and amplifier.

first off, i got the first part of song down rough and I love it. and second, from what I understand, MH used some effects with his amplification so maybe his harmonics have a certain effect or number of small effects done to it.... I dont know for sure. There does seem to be some special ring to his harmonics though. Especially on this song.  what kind of guitar do you have? Great tone.
