The corruption of politicians and bankers, and politicians' manoeuvres to shift the blame for the recession onto vulnerable groups were among the topics discussed at a political rally in the city centre on 26 May. In this video the robbery committed by short-sellers and bankers is described. Those people have flourished greatly under the Brown and Blair government and have been responsible for the artificial inflation in shares and subsequent collapse and job losses. They have profited greatly from gambling our money without having to do too much to earn it and now that the bubble has burst the biggest banks are getting huge bail-outs from the government with the ordinary hard-working tax-payers' money. The capitalist companies are also the most responsible for global warming and the destruction of the planet. The ssp believes that a 10% greed tax on the super-rich i.e those earning around a million or more a year is both justified and necessary as a measure to combat the poverty caused by the capitalist-made recession.
