  • i'm 18 and have applied for around 15 jobs now... i've followed up on every single one and they all have said no. this completely sucks, I have no idea what to do.

  • In times of economic hardship we need to step out of our comfort zone and even our experience in order to find employment. I don't necessarily want to flip hamburgers but I will. Just an example. It shows the employer that you are dedicated to your own cause and that makes you valuable. However it also puts you in the risk category because you will, when the economy rises, seek employment elsewhere.

  • so... then you get free shelter, food and clothes. now can you tell me whats wwrong with that!

  • I dont get anything for free. I am a person who believes that I must work to feed, clothe and house myself.

  • This is why more then ever I want to start my own business but probem is it cost money to start any business and I dont have any. I have been a nanny for 10 yrs and I just tried to do something different this yr and had had some pretty crappy jobs the last few months. I have a job as a telemarketer and get yelled at all day, hate it but its a job. I am going to try and go back to being a nanny, But even that is getting very competitive!

  • Jamie may I offer advise? Use the references you have developed over the 10 years of being a Nanny and introduce yourself to prospective clients as a non-affiliated independent. You can then charge the clients the same or less (your option) as the agency charges and get all the benefits. You will need to apply for and carry a small business license and build from there. It is an excellent start and a job that will always have a need.

  • Every Job I apply for I have to register on some board and spend two hours filling out the same information over and over. All of this information is clearly stated on my resume and in my cover letter. For some reason I have to spend two hours filling out a profile knowing I will never get a response. If your going to ignore my resume would you at least be considerate enough to let me just email it to you without wasting two hours of my time.

  • I remember for few years ago, i searched for tons of part time jobs, i made CV and Resume, I sent emails to companies that said that they needed employers for part time jobs.

And often i didn't get any answers.

Only time i got one, was hearing of my siblings that someone needed a workers at a boat, i called them, and wouldn't you know, i got the job.

Didn't even have to fill out a resume.

When it comes to searching job on net, its just teasing you from my experience.

  • i just read that nearly every type of job available is now being sought by 5 or more individuals. an unprecedented level of competition for americans

  • Hey, its 25/7/2011 just wondering have you found a job yet?

This video will explain what a fucked up world we live in and REALLY good ideas on how to fix it

  • @notredame2191

I've gotten rejected from Greggs, Tesco, Sainsburys, three garden centres, Martin McColls, Boots, Herdsman job (milking cows), Next and Claires Accessories on the basis of 'a lack of experience'.

I'm 18 too, and took a gap year out to earn some money for uni while gathering work experience in agriculture. Worked for free for 12 weeks on a farm and have only secured one job in Shoezone (which lasted for only a month). Since then...nothing

Everybody's in the same boat I'm afraid =(

  • @notredame2191 ITS CALLED AMERICA THE RICH COCK SUCKERS HOG EVERYTHING AND LEAVE YOU WITH NOTHING WE NEED COMMUNISM HERE

  • I think the man in the video should join a gang.

  • start drugs..

  • Are you willing to take minimum wage to clean shit and puke out of a public bathroom? Do you have a criminal background? Will you submit to a drug test, do you think that you are "above" doing crap labor? Guess what...you'll stay unemployed. The longest I've ever been unemployed is 2 weeks, and that was when the economy was worse than it is now. I'm tired of hearing these B.S. sob stories from a bunch of slackers who think they are above all others because they have a so-called "education".
