why not just use cell phones as credit/debit cards? They already do it in Japan and you could look at all of your banking info online

Solar panel? Surely, there is a better way of "charging" the card...Why not make the card only change during the swiping process? A constant power supply is not needed if it uses e-ink, it would be better to have power pass through the card during the update of the balance, and have it only power the change in balance on the display. And instead of making the edges glow, just a solid, non-glowy color would be just as effective, and less demanding.

this goes against the whole concept of credit cards - get those sheep to spend and earn big money on the interest they pay. great idea, but it'll never fly with the banks
