This ain't no reggae.
This ain't no rocksteady.
This ain't no ska.
This ain't no calypso.
This is Jamaican music and that's what counts.

In my opinion it's Rocksteady, and it rules! Slackers rule

tempo is the biggest difference. Ska plays more quarter notes. Makes it more upbeat. Bassline does a walk in ska and alot of empty space and syncopation in reggae.
Maybe you should learn that Reggae and rocksteady came from ska---so early reggae is very similar to ska-- just a bit slowed down.. more importantly... RELAX a bit. need more a dis music in your life

comparing ska and reggae is like comparing a green apple and a red apple. they may "taste" different, but at the end of the day they're the same thing.
