I realized recently watching a friends Let's Play of Ocarina of Time that there are actually people who DO use the shield in non-motion-control zelda games. xD This came as news to me.

I just now realized the Moblins and Darknut-knight-things both have those tattoos on their shoulders.

So apparently that block puzzle is the amazing seal that will not allow any evil into the chamber? Clearly this game has never met Dr. Eggman or any high IQ villain before.
