how often do you style your hair with aids. ie putting in spring locs, mama sista twists etc. I know you can do multiple styles from various stages but I want to make sure I am not manipulating my roots to often to do so. thanks.

Hi1cradle2. This is a good question. I don't style my hair very often. This is the reason that it is so healthy. I don't over manipulate my hair. I'll usually style for special occasions and the videos. So if I'm planning to go somewhere and I want my hair to look nice, I'll try to plan enough time to get some footage for a video. In year 6 of having my locks I went to a salon to have someone "style" my hair. What a mistake. It was way too tight and I took my hair down as soon as I got home.

your spring coils are very nice. it's really nice to know that you could do so many things now with locks.i know that your going to be releasing instructional dvd's this year if in fact there already out,being that i'm posting this response in aug/08. my question is about the hair jewels your wearing, at what stage did you apply them to your locks. i have sisterlocks, however there in the baby stages could jewels be added at this stag,or wait until there mature. marcia

Hi xanbux124. I know it's tempting to add jewelry and style your new Sisterlocks, but please wait until your hair is more settled. I wouldn't recommend putting anything in your locks and doing any extra styling until you've had your Sisterlocks for at least a good year or so. It's very important for you to allow the locking process to take it's course in order for you to have the kind of locks that you want. Be patient Sis. Your locks are already beautiful without the jewelry.

I don't think she ever did the other video, but anyway, it's just pipe cleaners that will give you that look she just chooses to call them springlocks.  She has the name of it right in the name of her video...locks using pipe cleaners.
