It's taken a while but I'm back and doing another Biffy Clyro lesson, this one is Biffy Clyro's God & Satan and was chosen after many requests from my successful Many of Horror guitar lesson :)

The song is very handily in standard tuning (E, A, D, G, B, e) so there's no need to change tuning. On top of that the whole song is simple in the sense that it only consists of four chords and one chord variant. The chords are G, Em, C, D and a variant of F barre chord.

In this part we'll be looking at the verse, prechorus and chorus, I will also give detailed tutorials on how to do the included chords :)

I dedicate this to the people who persist, regardless of how many times they fail on their journey x

  • No.. this is what i already figured out. =/

I wan't to do that thing with the G chord that Biffi Clyro does.

Also your guitar sounds really out of tune.

    Sorry. =/

  • @AlvinJelmorini What? The comment you sent made little sense :P And it doesn't have to be perfectly in tune to teach people :)

  • man not to offend you but your guitar sounds like it needs some tuneing

  • Well done young man. Although old I am new t the guitar and I thought you have done an excellent job. Well explained. Cheers

  • @TheWiseTheOld If we imagine that the guitar neck looks like this:

    |---0--- | We can see that as the strings go down on

    |---1--- | this diagram (as shown) then the strings are getting

    |---0--- | lower, so the bottom string on this diagram is the

    |---2--- | lowest sounding string. The numbers represent the

    |---3--- \ | / fret placement on each string, however where

    |---x--- \/ there is an "x" you do not play that string.

I hope this has helped you :)

  • hmm...I got the first 2 parts but the third.. :/

  • @Hirohamster2

Well, with the G chord thing that Biffi does, i ment he used transition notes.

You're right about it doesn't have to be perfect.. but i just like it to be perfect anytime. =)

  • not bad but the chords in the bridge are Em, G, Am, C, D, not Em, G, C, G, D

  • Thanks mate nice one

  • Keep it up son! Need to tune your guitar. It's so important that you keep your guitar finely tuned. Your ears are learning all the time and if it isn't tuned to perfection how will your ears learn what the chords are supposed to sound like? Peace
