Not that the ban on political spending is reasonable either. Labor unions often, and rightly, spend money addressing bills that threaten their existence or the rights of their members, yet this would be prohibited under SB 830 unless every single member of the union approved.

"(3) Notwithstanding subsections (1) and (2), deductions may not be made for the dues, uniform assessments, fines, penalties, or special assessments of an employee organization" This bill would end all union deductions, not just those for political purposes as the Florida Chamber of Commerce claims.
