In 1973, CBS wanted Sandy Becker's crazy DJ character HAMBONE to spin off into his own Saturday morning cartoon wrap-around series. Sandy didn't have much faith in the concept, thinking rightly that Hambone was cool because he was a "non-sequitor." And he was right. BUT! Sandy gave us the footage, and it's an ultra-rare opportunity to see Hambone's costume in blue, instead of the usual black and white (which in reality was really Red!) @rehobothwell You are correct, it was 1965, I saw that show and remember it well, they did split screens of hambone playing several instruments, guitar. sax, and combo organ, iI got a panther combo organ several years later which I still own today.

I never saw the Sandy Becker show, unfortunately. But I would be willing to swear that I used to see Hambone on Captain Kangaroo back in the very early 60s. What did he do, make guest appearances?

Sandy Becker was a very funny man. i enjoyed watching his shows back in the 60s. What fun!!

Years since I've seen 'hambone' as a youth watching the old WNEW. If my memory serves right, I think 'hambone' was doing sam the sham's wooly bully. it was hilarious
