&&she doesn't even do anything like her. She hardly moves like Selena used to, Selena's music was more like a pop/young/cumbia kinda sound & Elida is old school/still fresh & modern polka, ranchera, kinda Tejano music. she's just as good. give her a chance. besides she is the only other female Tejano artist besides Selena to win a grammy! :) YOU GO ELIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love you girl!

Elida Reyna is the smoothest voice in Tejano plus a great performer. She will be toTejano what Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, or Loretta Lynn was to country. Come 2050 or 2060 Elida will be a legend.

No disrespect to Selena or Elida, they are both great entertainers, but long before them, a lot of other women helped pave the way for female tejano singers like Chavela Ortiz y su grupo express and the original Reina of Tejano Music, Laura Canales. And just as everyone has taken her title and given it to Selena, someone else will come along and take it from Selena. Just Saying.

Elida is in a class all by herself, she doesn't imitate Selena, nor does she want to, Elida is a very talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. Yea she may not have the appeal that Selena did, but she isn't Selena, give the new generation a break, Selena has passed, she is memory in our minds and the cha ching in her dad's bank account. @LittleRicky66 Selena was beginning to write her own music. She wrote "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" & "Oh No"...."Oh No" is a song she wanted to put on her English album but she never got to record it :( ....AB ended up translating it & putting it on his "Amor, Familia, & Respecto" Album & if you see the credits, Selena's name is on there as a songwriter. Our Selena, such talent taken from all of us. :(

Selena may have had that appeal to many, BUT!!!! Lord help me, Tejano did not die when she died. The girl is dead, let her rest in peace. One thing Selena did not have was the ability to write great music, compose a song, play an instrument, grant it she didn't need that but nonetheless, she was good, Shelly, Elsa, Elida and the rest were overlooked because CAPITOL/EMI bought the awards. I wish this SELENA furor would stop, she is gone, let her go. Elida, Shelly and Stefani, u girls rock

@lzapico120 I'm confused....are you talking to me? lol I was defending Elida. idk why you're getting mad at me.... I've been a fan of hers since Luna Llena. My dad used to sing the guitar while I sang it when I was little :) ....I didn't say anything wrong. People who don't know Tejano music think it stops at Selena and while I LOVE Selena, it doesn't stop there. It keeps going and artists like Elida are making that happen....idk why I upset you....maybe you meant to get mad at somebody else

Canta muy bonito esta canción me gusta desde la primera vez q la escuche yo no entiendo xq la comparan con selena si ella ya murió de q fue grande e importante nadie lo niega pero elyda es única y ella esta viva nos puede brindar nuevas canciones no solo las mismas xq la neta el pan q es pan enfada y las rolas de selena ya la escuche en grupero en durangense y con banda y norteña bueno ya q mas falta regeton? @sunbather30 actually she is there. She won a grammy just a few months ago & she will go down in history as one of the best Tejano artist ever along with Selena. I will continue to support Elida & other legendary Tejano artists that are still here today. She's not a wannabe. She's been around since Selena was here. I bet they were even friends lol :) Her & Sel are the only 2 female Tejano artists to win a grammy :) I'm sure Selena is listening to Elida in heaven thinking, "you go girl!!" :)
