This is my second time stepping in the ring, but the first time going in there to do muay thai. (Four days prior, I had my first - and probably last - boxing experience.) As anyone can probably tell from watching, I've got a lot to learn. (I'm the one in the red shorts and green gloves.) But the experience was intensely addictive, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the gym to train some more for the next one.
This particular event was held in Austin, TX, as part of a series of Muay Thai Smokers designed to raise awareness of muay thai as a martial art, and to eventually become a sanctioned organization running fights at different levels. There were three women in my weight class, so we did a round robin, and I was able to fight out one round with each one.
I train muay thai and Brazilian jiu jitsu at Twin Wolves MMA in Harker Heights, TX.
No, it's a Twin Wolves MMA T-shirt (that's my gym).
