it's really hard to shoot through the viewfinder...
The noise is a combination of the tape noise ind the fact that the microphone is 5 cm away from the lens, and the camcorder is touching the camera...

and the other thing, is that this lens has become my "walk around" lens..

  • What camera is this tested on?

    Thx

  • @trinitybabes Canon 1D MKII

  • I'm a newbie. Can that focus problem be fixed what everyone is talking about? Or you'll have to be a lucky person who buys a newer and fixed edition of the Sigma?

  • I don't know about a focus problem, I don' have any problems with mine, this lens is out for some time now and i think they've probably fixed this problem. The seller will probably replace it if you get one with this problem...

  • How would you compare the AF speed and accuracy to Canon L lenses? I am seriously consider getting this lens among a few others.

  • well, it's not as quiet or as fast as a good L lens, it's close but not as good. But the Canon 50mm 1,4 isn't a L lens, so I would say they are quite equal. But the canon lens is a design from 1993 and it hasn't changed from then, it's a good design but still not as good as the Sigma.

  • Lol, the AF sounds like someone is about to run out Slurpee.

  • It is actually pretty noisey... lol I played with one not too long ago.

  • Which one would you guys say is the better lens..this one or the Nikon 50mm f/1.4g? Maybe the Nikon produces sharper images, but not as great bokeh?

  • @hhhkkkhhhjkjki AF-area

  • Yes the focus problem can be fixed, but you do have to send your body and the lens in for calibration at sigma's repair center. I myself just bought this lens taking a risk for the focus problem, but, i got no focus problem and on the test chart i used the focus was +-0.5cm, at 300% magnification. The lens is amazing, get it, you won't regret.

  • wat is that redbox or sumting after focusing??
