Thanks for telling the down sides
But why isn't it good for out of state stuff?

Forgot to tell you guys that I live in Europe ( Belgium) I don't think the 650 was available in the States
-
I've got a Deauville 650 ..predecessor of this one and a great bike... I can only imagine that the 700 is an even better bike.

Beautiful bile, I don't know why honda's webpage does not show diff picture of it, by the way, don't leave your helmet on the grass like that, you don't want to find ants around your head while riding on the highway

I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam and after months of dreaming about this bike and then watching this video, I was concerned about the seat height enough to actually go sit on one at a dealer. I bought it instantly and have had ridden it comfortably ever since. One of my friends that is just a bit taller than I sat on it and said it was uncomfortably high for him. I think that within a certain range, seat height is a matter of personal preference more than an operational concern.

Great review. I'm a new rider and wasn't even considering this type of bike but after seeing your review I'm going to test drive one.
My initial though is that it wouldn't be all that great for interstate riding becuase it is a little "buzzy" at highway speeds. You always want to go for that extra gear to drop the RPM's. I have ridden it long distances on the highway however, and it isn't too bad. A 6th gear would be spendid.

Hi Matt,
Glad to hear that you are comfortable with your NT700V and that you are enjoying your purchase. Yes... I agree, seat hight and comfort factor is definitely a personal preference. I hope your comment here in association with my eperiences prompt more folks to take a close look at this all around great motorcycle. THANKS for your input!

Man... that is a tough question to answer because the answer may be subjective to personal taste. Far me… I have had a lot of bikes ranging from a BMW K1200GT to a Honda CB350 and everything in between and personally... I think the NT700V is a great mid size bike that can be used as a weekend tourer to a day to day commuter. If you are commuting the streets of LA I think it may be a good choice and certainly worth some heavy consideration.

Looks like I stand corrected. Black ABS is it for 2011. Interesting.

You may want to check with your Honda dealer. I was under the impression that the bike was going to be offered in Black in addition to Red and Silver (all bikes will be ABS for 2011).
PS: I too can't wait for this snow to be gone!

I beleive the horsepower rating is 65 @ 8000rpm. It isn'y much, but adequate (depending on what you are looking for. It won't wow you, but it is has pretty good torque and hauls a passenger with no problem. It is OK, on the highway, but I find myself looking for an extra gear. It is feels a little buzzy at highway speeds but not terrible.
