  • Love this video and the players are all wonderful.

  • Please ignore the comments below...they all start to sound the same after a while...this music on the other hand, is masterful, subtle, and intricate. It is being played consummately by three great musicians who know their instruments, the compositions, and the arrangements so well they are able to forget all about that, and create such sublime music. Give me more music, and fewer comments. For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible. For those who do, none is necessary. VivaRC

  • While it is all beautiful music it all starts to sound the same after a while. Odd time signatures doesn't make stuff interesting if you only do that. And all the harmonic progressions sound the same after a while too.

I like it but it gets old.

and another thing about the metronome thing. If you don't have good time your not gonna get any jobs in any genre of music unless it involves a click track.

  • sorry to burst your bubble but just because someone is playing straight ahead jazz doesn't mean they have to play 4 quarter notes a measure. and also it doesn't matter what style of jazz you are playing the bass player is the time keeper.

and I wasn't talking about time signature when I said the same.

  • the same? you mean playing in 5/4 in one track then 6/4 in another sounds the same? You don't listen to that genre of music enough is the problem. Talk to your non-music intelegent friends and ask if jazz sounds all the same or Metal or anything else for that matter. It all sounds the same if your not used to it. I don't play straigh swing though. Being labled a metonome isn't my thing. (playing only quarter notes, although changing notes)

  • All of Avishai Cohens music starts to sound the same after like the first two tracks you listen to.

Plus if you've ever heard Avishai do straight ahead swing his feel kinda sucks.

I agree about the fact that Ron carter's playing isn't very catchy.

Rhythm is a pretty basic word though and you should know how to spell it. Especially since you seem to be a musician.

  • because I spend my time practicing rather than spelling? Excuse me. Don't get me wrong, Carter is great at what he does, What he plays isn't that catchy though.

  • you're stupid too...you suck

  • *rhythm

  • you're stupid
