Nice vid,brings back memories.I was in 2 AD in the U.S.Army same time as you Artilleryman1 and would not take a day of it back....M109 is a fine weapon and thanks pd41689 for telling what this machine is really classified as.Hail to all Gunners,past and present!

I fooled with these for 2 yrs. About the time I got out they had just gone to the long tubes on the main gun. 1974-1976

Good SP howitzer, but bittemeinrammstein is right. MSTA-S is equal in some properties and in rest of them is even better.
If M109A6 can be integrated in unified Battlefield Management Network System, then it would be the only indusputable advantage over MSTA-S.

@artillaryman1 hi mate i worked on this gun in the british army, also in germany. i remember going to gravffinver for a big excercise! i was there about 86-87. happy daze!
