French artist Céleste Boursier-Mougenot creates works by drawing on the rhythms of daily life to produce sound in unexpected ways.
For his installation in The Curve, Boursier-Mougenot creates a walk-though aviary for a flock of zebra finches, furnished with electric guitars and other musical instruments. As the birds go about their routine activities, perching on or feeding from the various pieces of equipment, they create a captivating, live soundscape.

wat the f**k was dis? i wnt 2 dis afta i bought da new lady gaga album (2 sik!) dis aint political, it's da art world goin 'hmm...every1 seems to be talented,i mean look at myspace, they are plenty talented unsignd bands/artists out there, lets rub it in their faces and make randm non-melodc noises den make sme birds make the music. WE CAN CALL IT AVANTGARDE ... now pass me the zoot'. Da only thing g8 that came outta dis was gettin some bird sh*t on my coat so i got 2 wash it (it's a sick coat!)
a story about this exhibition on the bbc said that these birds were from a company that trains birds for commercials, movies, that kind of thing. So when the show is over they'll go back to being in cages. If anything this is probably a nice change of pace for them
Art isn't just about contrast, and it certainly isn't about creating a situation just because it's possible to do so.
Instead of changing my perception of the world this merely affirms to me that this Art, as well as a society which condones this kind of 'expression', has lost it's way.
