TO whoever wrote people have 40k in a mustang & only run 12`s ; garbage or they got ripped off . saw a vw in the 70`s that run 12.4 in the 1/4 & had a vw engine . not stock by any means as it had a homemade 4 barrel intake ; 650 cfm holley . it was a steel body ! quiet a feat for the time ! have seen many with sbc , sbf & 1 with a 390 amc motor , 1 bbc , 1 -340 mopar , 1- 440 mopar in the last 40 years .

6954mike, that combo sounds good. You should do it. However, you should try to go 64 and before. It REEAALLY carries that sleeper image.....GuineaJay, you need to get a life. Haterism was played out yesterday. Most importantly, you should get your facts straight. Jettas and GTI's are in the VW family. However they are not aircooled like their little beetle brothers. Hater!

VW Beetles....people are the unsung heroes of vehicles. Born and raised in Merced, Ca, and stationed in Hawaii, I seen the best of the best when it came to 1/4ml street legal beetle. Please don't fight the feeling. Just accept the fact that a beetle will bite that ass, if you step to the line.
