The Sex Discrimination Ordinance(SDO) is an anti-discrimination law passed in 1995. Discrimination on the basis of sex, marital status and pregnancy, and sexual harassment are made unlawful under this law. These protections are applicable in seven different fields. The law applies to both males and females.
The SDO also provides for the establishment of the Equal Opportunities Commission to work towards the elimination of discrimination and harassment as well as to promote equal opportunity between men and women.
