I think Krista Tesreau is a decent actress but, at the time, the writers didn't know what to do with the character. Karen Witter was fabulous as Tina, and the character matured wonderfully, but when she left and the role was recast, the writers tried to return Tina to her zany, wide-eyed, naive, bitch-with-a-heart-of-gold that she was when Evans played the role, and it just didn't wash. I enjoyed Evans' return, because I like her as a personality, but I wasn't impressed with Tina's behavior.
@imachildofthe80s8089 and she was good on GL as Mindy--I think they were writing the character so poorly at that point and trying to get back some of Tina's naivety and it just failed. The DID story was great but the whole tina falling for her "brother" was icky--but I guess necessary for Viki to recall her father molesting her. They would have been better off coming up with a better way of doinjg hte incest thing and not recastng tina at all
@imachildofthe80s8089 Yeah, Viki was gone by late January 1995. first Tommy, then Jean took over the night Dorian told Viki the truth. Viki came back as you said on Valentine's Day to tell Renee that she thought that Niki came back (it wasn't Niki, it was Jean). After Valentine's day, we didn't see Viki again till June when she came out to save Jessica from the fire at Llanfair.
@spinnernet1 I also remember Viki emerging for 2 minutes, long enough to notify Renee that she thinks Niki Smith was back and she was all shaky, Renee left the room to call Larry to examine a shaky Viki and when Renee returned to the library, Viki/Niki was gone! for most of 95 Niki and the other hosts were in control. There was also Dorian escaping the soundproof plexiglass boof and basement?
@spinnernet1 Viki had permanently been on vacation from February of 95 to August of 95(She was hospitalized for DID fourth of july) I do remember a couple episodes that stuck in my mind Viki walks the blizzard's to Dorian to get the "whole ugly truth" from Dorian and in an emotional scene Viki shakes her and says "Why did you kill my father, he was such a wonderful man" and Dorian responds "Oh Viki you really don't know do you?"(she doesn't reveal the secret til the next ep)
this scene took place in April 1995. Niki had just overpowered Jean Randolph for control of Viki's psyche. Viki hadn't been in control of the body for months.

Is it just me or did Niki get meaner over the years? I mean compared to the Nikki of the 80's.
