My family comes from Dieppe, New Brunswick, which was named for Dieppe, France because of what our soldiers did to win the victory in WWII.

If I may comment as an Aussie ex serviceman? I know of the deeds of the Canadian military. Vimy Ridge, Normandy, Kapyong, Bosnia etc etc etc. Conflicts fought to defend civilians against aggression, with Canadian blood on the line because it was the right thing to do without a doubt. I will always hold the Canadian Armed Forces in the highest regard, and proudly rank them alongside the ANZACS. That really is the highest compliment I can think of.
