Makeup Tips and Tricks - Going "Ugly"

Here I show you a sped up version of how I transform into my Nancy Roder character. This is what you'll need to do the look at home:

1. Light brown eyeshadow and a light feathery brush - use this to create a unibrow, thicker eyebrows, and a light moustache above the brow

2. Red Lip Pencil - to create fake acne and redness under the nose

3. Large, oversized glasses

4. Fake braces - you can either get these made (for a hefty $200 online!) or you can make them yourself using an old retainer. If your retainer is metal, simply snap the backs of earrings onto the metal wire. Ironically, earring posts look almost identical to the posts on braces. If you have an invisible retainer (like invisalign), you have to be willing to ruin it. I used superglue to adhere the earring posts to the retainer, then I snapped small fishing rod in between the grooves of the posts. Voila!

5. Wig - any wig with a "straight/blunt cut" works. If you're going to go cheap, look for wigs with bangs as they typically appear more realistic.

6. Dorky outfit - I found my snowman dress as Goodwill. Pair it with a pair of flat top sneakers, and you're ready to go!

so what is this? A video against people whose appearance doesn't correspond to societies average idea of beauty? Very, very funny. Time to get a little more mature and realize, that there are people who feel well even when they look like nancy

@FTBLN Nooooo! You missed the point :) Nancy is a character I do, and people kept asking how I do my makeup to look like her, which is why I made the video. I don't mean to make fun of anyone who looks any particular way. If anything, this video should serve as evidence that anyone can transform themselves and have many different "looks!" All it takes is a good wig and makeup!
