My name Gym_ and in this qwick toturail im going to show yas how to make a pause funtion in vb 6.0
Ok 1st thing we need to do is open a new project and then were going to add our pause sub
Were just simpley going to right
Sub Pause bracket interval bracke
Then crurrent = timer do while timer minies current grater then val brackes interval doevents loop end sub
Then to show ya that it works we will make a button and then a label and make the label text nice and big so we can see it aline to center change the BG to grey again make it ezzer to see
Then will just right in this very simple sub of label12.capation = pause1 dont forget the qwotations becose its not calling I funtion its priting a caption then to call the pase we tipe in
Pause bracks 3 secends and becoise its seceonds we use the hash simbel like so then end breckts
End then we will just copy and past that again sevral times and then fix it up liek this and then change the caption to pause 1 2 3 4
Ok now let run the program ther ya go..
No for this project I made the the pause funtion privet insted of making it public
What dose that meen I hear you say,,,
Ok well in this demo I put this funtion in the form that it was to be use in so its privet,, only good for this form and no others
So lets say that were making a progam with a heap of forms
So lets do that add a heap of forms
we dont need to retipe or copy and past this pause funtion into every form what we do is make it public by makign a mudul like so and then copy and pasing the code in there
Ok now every form that we make from now on can acess that sub and then all we need to do is tipe in pause bracket amount of time we wna tthe program paused for end brack
Now comes the disclimer by no meens this is the best way to do a pause funtion as this prob uses resorses and may be slitly more inacarate was of keeping time then other metherds out ther..
But in this and all my tutorils im just here to show u the qwicket simplet metherd of geting somthign done that works.. later on when you wnat to get more advanced you can then look into other metherds of makign a pause for your aplacations,,
