Reid Gower has a passion in promoting scientific literacy in the general population leading him to develop his video series. His media creation, called The Sagan Series, borrows the words of the late astrophysicist Carl Sagan and has gone on to inspire millions across the world. Reid is Canadian and lives on Vancouver Island. He is a graduate of the University of Victoria.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

What Cosmos did in the 80's you're doing now. Thanks for bringing Sagan into my life.

And without a script to look at. I'd be fumbling with my words.

This guy is really inspiring, and there is a clear influence of Carl Sagan on his interesting and his speaking style.

You're right. And the fact that it'll be on Fox of all networks means it should even more of an impact.

I love TED too, but Neil is working on something with far more impact than a Ted Talk: a new version of Carl Sagan's Cosmos, to be aired in 2014.

Cosmos is on DVD! And although it's "dated", it's still wonderful.

Dear Neil deGrasse Tyson,
When are you gonna do a TED Talk?
