@SuperB1GJ0HN Because if you miss the next pot because of your poor positional play, the previous shot wasn't much use in the first place seeing as you're just potting balls for your oponnent if you miss afterwards. No need to get a heart-attack, there there.
@OsirisGOLAD Sorry but this is the most stupid comment I have ever heard. Why would one player concerntrate on his positional play so much that he doesn,t pot the balls. If you don't pot the ball then you can't continue your break. So just shut the fuck up ok. Positional play comes second to potting. But is important
@nukm4 yup, exactly. the difficulty of a game doesn't have anything to do with how good the players are. also it is a lot easier to get away with a miss in snooker, or a lot easier to play a safety if poor position is played. neither sport is better than the other. stupid comparison
@TASK104 Well said.... well said. POTTING is easier in pool but there's so much more to both snooker and pool than the pot. They are very different games.
What you snooker fans have to realise is that, while it is easier to play 9-ball, it's easier for everybody else as well. What this means is that you have to be a lot better than everyone else in order to win consistently, otherwise luck will play too great a role in who wins or loses.
@ftbsrlak I was just commenting on why I believe snooker players don't do well in 9ball, despite possessing such great skill. Obviously no professional would have any desire to switch to a less profitable sport.
9 ball is probably the simplest form of pool. Perhaps you would get more enjoyment from 14.1.
@OsirisGOLAD My comment wasn't to say that snooker players are less skilled in cue ball control, but rather that they often play position and execute patterns in ways that would be considered "incorrect" when playing 9-ball pool. It's just my opinion, but I think this is why they usually haven't fared weill in 9-ball, despite being such skilled cueists. In hind sight though, this video probably isn't the best example of that. Criticizing the way Jimmy ran out here is probably splitting hairs.
@TASK104 Actually, in pool you can pot your way out of situations that(on a snooker table) would mean that you had a horribly difficult shot, and thus in snooker you have to be far more precise with your positional play. In snooker your goal is not to need any tremendous potting ability, through proper positional play. I'd say that as long as you can see the ball(in pool), you can make the shot most of the time; that is far from true in snooker.
@SuperB1GJ0HN You obviously don't play much pool......
