I am a freshman with a 3.714 gpa. Is this ok? I know that I will take AP's. I also have little more than 70 hours of volunteer work.

you also got to sell your soul to the pretentious conformist consumer mass media network that is your country apparently

@49redskies thanks! The top American schools are ridiculously hard to get into...our valedictorian last year got in to Harvard. He won every acting award there was in the state + multiple national ones, first chair since 6th grade for the band + band awards, won every category every year for the literary fair, a 5.46 weighted GPA, and he got a book published. Did I mention he was also the president of 3 clubs since his sophomore year?

@Bjulieanna WTF?! That is so unfair and doesn't even make sense. He's an academically brilliant, well-rounded, award winner. I'm from Canada so we don't do SAT's and the grading system's a little bit different, but I know this guy deserves to go to an Ivy League school! All the best to him!

@49redskies Still have a year left before college! One of my best friends just got rejected from MIT and every other Ivy League...president of Science Club, winner at states and nationals every science fair, 4.0 GPA, valedictorian, and a 2290 SAT...and his story is not an anomaly

I don't know of any students that got into an Ivy with a 3.75 GPA...or a 2100 SAT...
