Dude that's the point of tag in this game. Its 1 merc with infinite lives vs. 3 spies with 4 lives. As soon as 1 of the spies loses all of their lives, they go merc. it's a never ending game. It's the only way I play on Versus.

fuck I wish the spies could grab the mercs by their legs and pull them off of ledges and shit on the PS2...X-Box is the better system by far. and yeah, you all suck at this game. grabbing the merc's neck and dragging him around as a taunt when it's 3 on 1...you're a complete noob.
